Week in Review: Fitness Totals

Well, I had such a super busy weekend that I am a day behind in posting my weekly fitness totals. This was a challenging week, not in terms of weight loss stuff but in time management.

I simply had a lot to do and had this sense of running from one thing to the next without any breathing room in between. When I was younger I thrived on a schedule like that, but these days I prefer having the time to stop and smell the egg white omelets.

Anyway, my goal is to do a minimum of 5 hours a week of exercise. I didn't make it this week and honestly, this wasn't any old pattern of laziness trying to return, but a question of time and commitments. So my break-down is three 35-minute sessions with the ChaLEAN Extreme program, 2 hours and 25 minutes of walking and about one hour of weight training at the gym.

So I did just over four hours instead of the five, but that's the only "bad news" in this review of my fitness week. I did great with the food and if anything, increased the amount of raw veggies in my diet this week.

The headaches, blurred vision and other strange symptoms have completely vanished so I'll have to continue to avoid artificial sweeteners. I've been drinking water, green or white tea, and coffee in moderation. I no longer drink soda or crystal light and feel so much the better for it.

My house was starting to get on my nerves as between work and exercise I haven't been cleaning as much. It was starting to look like a bunch of frat boys live here. The living room was so untidy, the only thing missing was some empty beer cans and dirty socks.

But I spent an entire day picking up, vacuuming and whatnot. I even decluttered my desk and cleaned out the fridge. I literally put in something like a ten-hour day cleaning, but I don't regret it. The place looks great now!

Here's a pic of the living room with our two dogs, Beau and Zeke, snoozing on the sofas. We joke that the house is actually theirs and they are kind enough to let us live here, pay all of the bills, buy the food. etc.

So this is my report for the week and I am dedicating myself to bringing my fitness hours back up this week to at least the minimum.
Be good to you today!

  1. 4+ hours of exercise is still a good week if you ask me. Sometimes our lives get in the way of having the time we'd 'like' to have to work out. You'll hit your 5 hours this week for sure.

  3. Your exercise goal sounds very reasonable; I may just aim for 5 hours too, and see how that works. I can't take artificial sweeteners either, but there are more drinks available now that use stevia and/or erythritol (like Vitamin and Sobe water), so the alternatives are coming!!

  4. You are such an inspiration! And in sooo many ways:
    1. Your workouts. Five hours a week? That's less than one hour a day. Totally do-able. Yet my goal is 300. Need to crank it up.
    2. Giving up the aspartme. I'm really struggling with giving up Diet Coke. Needed the reminder of all those nasty things artifical sweeteners (and other chemicals) can do to us. I don't have any specific sxs - that I know of.
3.The cleaning and decluttering - wow!
I loved the "frat house" comparison. I too have a messy house, cluttered desk and frig that needs a good cleaning.
Thanks for the great motivating post!
